Precision Farming Specialist

Part of the Dunstall Holdings Groups, Rea Valley Tractors (RVT) was established over 30 years ago and is a leading regional agricultural machinery dealer. We supply an extensive range of agricultural machinery throughout Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, mid and North Wales, Cheshire and Lancashire and also sell high-quality used equipment across the UK and abroad.  We will have seven depots in Newport, Shrewsbury, Sudbury, Welshpool, Cheshire, Lancashire and North Wales.

About the Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly, dedicated and in-house team of experts within RVT Precision Farming, a market leading supplier and installer of bespoke and off the shelf Precision Farming solutions from top end manufacturers. 

Responsibilities (this list is not exhaustive):

The role involves fitting and commissioning bespoke and off the shelf Precision Farming solutions to various new and used agricultural and turf equipment, along with associated fault finding and routine maintenance, full training and support will be given to the successful candidate.

  • Promotion of the RVT Precision Farming Brand including sales, service and support of agricultural technology and advanced crop care products, with a strong focus on sales and the continued support of your existing customer base where applicable.
  • Providing support to the RVT Sales Team through specialist knowledge, demonstration of more advanced technological crop care, harvesting and planting equipment and advising of sales leads where appropriate. 
  • Future specialisation in a particular equipment line associated with advanced agricultural practices and Precision Farming. 
  • Growing our already successful and extensive RTK network.
  • Providing a first class Precision Farming service to our customer base both old and new.
  • Attending shows and events to promote RVT Precision Farming and RVT RTK, this will also involve assisting with event preparation and clearing of the site following an event. 

Candidate Requirements

A basic pre-existing knowledge of electrics, hydraulics and electronics will be essential along with an understanding of basic Can-Bus architecture, attitude, aptitude and a passion for agriculture and technology will also be important qualities.

The role would suit a qualified technician or similar looking to specialise and forge a long term, exciting and fast paced career within RVT Precision Farming.
