Service Team Leader

Part of the Dunstall Holdings Groups, Rea Valley Tractors (RVT) was established over 30 years ago and is a leading regional agricultural machinery dealer. We supply an extensive range of agricultural machinery throughout Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, mid and North Wales, Cheshire and Lancashire and also sell high-quality used equipment across the UK and abroad.  We will have seven depots in Newport, Shrewsbury, Sudbury, Welshpool, Cheshire, Lancashire and North Wales.

About the role

To facilitate a smooth-running workshop by coordinating the service team and their workload.  Using people skills and technical ability, you will need to keep the Workshop Management Team informed of how jobs are progressing at the same time as providing guidance, instruction and direction to the team.  Excellent communication skills and a calm approach will help ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis you will (this list is not exhaustive)

  • Support distribution of the workload to the team according to engineer competencies and job location
  • Maintain workflow progression by supporting the team with pre-work preparations for example ordering parts preparing service kits
  • Make regular contact with the team to ensure prompt and accurate customer service
  • Monitor workflow and progress of jobs of the team
  • Regularly provide progress reports to the Workshop Management Team
  • Inspect work completed by the team within their area of responsibility ensuring high work standards and completed in an efficient manner.
  • Carry out extra duties as required by the Workshop Management Team to assist in the smooth running of the department.
  • Deputise as required for the Workshop Management Team in their absence including taking telephone calls, distributing workload and administration.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience performing service repairs
  • Ability to perform repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following approved technical procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems to affect the repair of the agricultural equipment
  • Ability to use standard computer applications, internet functions and manufacturer service applications
  • Ability to lead others
