Demonstrator

Part of the Dunstall Holdings Groups, Rea Valley Tractors (RVT) was established over 30 years ago and is a leading regional agricultural machinery dealer. We supply an extensive range of agricultural machinery throughout Shropshire, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, mid and North Wales, Cheshire and Lancashire and also sell high-quality used equipment across the UK and abroad.  We will have seven depots in Newport, Shrewsbury, Sudbury, Welshpool, Cheshire and Lancashire and North Wales.

About the Role

To provide sales, service, customer support in line with company strategy to enhance our products and our reputation for quality and aftersales service.  The role has no direct reports and reports directly to Branch Manager.

Responsibilities
On a day-to-day basis you will (This list is not exhaustive):  

  • Liaise with the Sales Team and organise customer demonstrations, keeping track of the demonstration fleet. 
  • Managing the demonstration fleet, which includes standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and pre/post demonstration checks.
  • Carry out machinery demonstrations, advising/instructing customers regarding operating features and assisting Sales Team with technical issues.
  • Complete all training programmes to develop/maintain skills and knowledge for machinery operations and installations.
  • Install, set up and handover machinery with the customer and ensure correct operation.  This includes explaining operating features, maintenance, adjustments and safety aspects.
  • Provide customer support with any operating and/or set up issues, especially in the first days following receipt.  This may include advise over the phone.
  • Assist with event/show set up, including transportation of machines, supporting Sales Team with enquiries, product knowledge and general hospitality where required.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in an agricultural dealership environment – preferably in a technician role with LTA certification or equivalent
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to use standard company applications, internet and manufacturers service portals
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Familiar with manufacturers products.
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends
